Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 1 September 2026
These Terms describe the rules Dotstrap actually enforces — the allowance, the expiry clocks, the one-request rule and the permanence of your address — rather than a general statement that could apply to any product.
1. Agreement
2. What Dotstrap does
Dotstrap hosts a public page at an address you choose, and — when you switch it on — runs an AI front desk that holds the first conversation with people who arrive there. The front desk evaluates each conversation against private criteria you write, files it in your inbox or aside, and gives you a summary.
The front desk decides what reaches you. It does not decide for you, it cannot commit you to anything, and it cannot make an agreement on your behalf.
3. Accounts and eligibility
4. Your Dotstrap address
You choose your address once, when you set up your account, and it cannot be changed afterwards. Choose it as carefully as you would a domain name.
If you delete your account, the address is retired permanently rather than released. It is never reissued to anyone else, so nobody can inherit an address people already associate with you.
We may reclaim an address that impersonates somebody, infringes a trademark, or was registered to sell rather than to use.
5. The limits the product enforces
These are not fair-use guidance. They are enforced by the service:
- A rolling 24-hour allowance on how many NEW people you may approach. Replying inside a conversation that is already open never costs anything.
- One live request per person. Until it is answered, withdrawn or expires, you cannot send that person another.
- 15 days for a delivered request. If the recipient does not react it expires, and you are free to write again.
- 24 hours for an unfinished conversation. A visitor who stops midway can return and continue; after that the session ends and nothing is delivered to anyone.
- 600 characters for a request message, and 600 for an Intent Match declaration.
The allowance counts people, not messages, and withdrawing a request frees the recipient’s slot without refunding the allowance you spent.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Dotstrap to:
- impersonate any person or organisation, or misrepresent your affiliation with one;
- harass, threaten, defame or endanger anyone;
- send bulk, automated or unsolicited commercial approaches;
- configure a front desk to deceive visitors about what it is, or to extract information from them under a false pretext;
- publish unlawful material, or material you have no right to publish;
- attempt to discover another person's private routing criteria or Intent Match declaration;
- probe, scrape, overload or circumvent the limits described above, or access the service other than through the interfaces we provide.
Your front desk speaks in your name. You are responsible for what it says on your behalf, and for the accuracy of everything on your public page.
7. Content and ownership
You own what you write. Your profile, your links, your routing criteria, your intent and your messages remain yours.
You grant Dotstrap only the licence it needs to run the service for you: to host and display your public page to visitors, to process your conversations so your front desk can answer and summarise them, and to store and back up your data. It is worldwide and royalty-free because serving a public page requires that, and it ends when you delete the content — subject to the joint-record rule below.
We do not use your content to train models, and we do not sell it.
8. Conversations belong to both people
9. Availability and change
10. Suspension and termination
You can deactivate or delete your account at any time from inside the product, with no reason required and no conversation to have with us first.
We may suspend or terminate an account that breaks these Terms, that is being used to harm someone, or where the law requires it. Except where an immediate risk to another person makes it impossible, we will tell you why.
Suspension does not remove your right to appeal it. The Help screen inside the product works for suspended accounts, deliberately — an appeal channel that only works for people who do not need it is not one.
