The questions people actually ask.
What is Dotstrap?
Dotstrap is a front desk for your attention: a permanent public address with no contact details on it, where an AI interviews every visitor against private criteria and hands you a brief instead of a queue.
Can people see my criteria?
No. Visitors can talk to your desk; they can never see what it is deciding against. That is the point — a published filter is a set of instructions for getting past it.
What if it turns away someone important?
Nothing is deleted. Everything the desk declined sits in your Spam folder with the reason and the full conversation, and one press moves it to your inbox.
Do visitors need an account?
To read your page, nothing at all. To write to you, one tap of Google sign-in — no email address, password or phone number is ever collected from anybody.
Does it answer as me?
It answers for you, under your name, and it says so. When you step in, a line is written into the conversation saying you took over, and the visitor is told.
Does it book meetings?
No. Dotstrap holds no calendar and books nothing. It decides who is worth your time; what you do with that time is yours.
What happens if I stop using it?
Your address stays, your page stays, and every conversation and setting stays with it. Your link is hosted whether or not you are using it.
What is an AI Front Desk?
It is the AI that greets every visitor on your page, has the first conversation, and works out why they are reaching out before anything lands in your inbox. Its job is not to answer questions — it is to decide who reaches you.
How does the AI decide?
You write the kinds of request you want, each with a private sentence describing what qualifies. Every conversation is checked against that list: a match reaches your inbox with an intent, a priority and a summary, and anything else is declined politely in your name and filed as spam.
What are the request limits?
Two, and they are different things. Incoming costs you nothing — your allowance is never spent on people who come to you. Outgoing is a set number of new people every 24 hours, shown on your dashboard, counted in people rather than messages.
Can I send someone a second request?
Not while the first one is still open. You get one live request per person. It unlocks the moment they react — or after fifteen days, if they never do.
What happens after fifteen days?
An unanswered request expires. Nothing is deleted: it stays in your Sent Requests marked Expired, and you're free to write to that person again.
Can I take over a conversation?
Yes, at any time. Your desk stops, a line is written into the transcript saying you took over, the visitor is told — and you can hand it back whenever you like.
What is Intent Match?
The other direction. You write one private sentence about what you are looking for right now, and Dotstrap ranks people whose declared intents are compatible with yours. Nobody ever sees your sentence — a match sees a face, a name, a public role, and how many details could be compared.
Does appearing high in someone's results get me past their front desk?
No. The two systems share no state. Intent Match finds people; opening their page starts an ordinary conversation with their desk, which decides on its own criteria whether you reach them.
Can I turn the front desk off?
Yes. You can pause it at any time, and your page will say that you are not currently taking new conversations.
Can I disable my public profile?
Yes, you can make your profile private or take it offline entirely whenever you choose.
Can I delete my account?
Yes. You can deactivate, export or delete your account and its data at any time from your settings.
